Root Canal refer to nerve and blood vessles inside your tooth. when it comes to root canal treatment, it involves removal of nerve tissue and disinfection and shaping of canal and canal fillings.

do i need root canals treatment?

Frequently patient came in as dental emergency with severe pain. up on examination if Dentist diagnose with nerve involvement there are only two options;1) Extraction of tooth 2) Start Root canal treatment Nerve chamber is sterile environment, free of bacteria. When dental decay progresses into nerve, it causes inflammatory response, often symptom of throbbing pain. Once dental decay reaches to nerve, Dentist cannot restore your tooth without Root Canal Treatment as it will exacerbate the symptoms. In order to provide second chance to tooth, all infected and inflammed nerve tissue and blood vessles needs to be removed from your tooth.

Root canal procedures

If patient decided to keep tooth then nerves and tissues will be removed from tooth and apply medication to get patient out of pain. this is stage 1. patient will need to come back to finish off rest of treatment, Stage 2 and 3 Stage 2 involves, measuring your root length and shaping the canal into continuous cornical horn shape and disinfect canal. Stage 3 will be fill hollow canal space with root filling material. Often patient do not come back after Stage 1 as pain is gone. However, pain will come back if the Root Canal treatment is not completed as bacterial may recolonise inside the canals. After Root Canal treatment completed, Dentist will assess and advise patient whether crown (capping) of tooth is necessary or not. often patient comes in with large tooth decay often it is recommended by Dentist.
